The Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) participated in European Researchers’ Night, held on Friday, 25 September, at Valencia’s Jardín de Viveros. This European initiative brings science closer to society through interactive and educational activities aimed at schoolchildren, families and the general public.

ICMol contributed to the event with three hands-on workshops designed to introduce participants to fascinating scientific concepts in an engaging and accessible way: The (Almost) Invisible World of 2D Materials, The Power of the Invisible: Magnetism & Conductivity, and The Chemistry of Slime.

Sonia Martínez, a researcher at ICMol, explained that participants in the workshop created their own slime by mixing glue with laboratory-grade borax, stirring the mixture and adding colouring. This fun, hands-on activity proved particularly popular among children and was a great success during European Researchers’ Night.

Through its participation, ICMol reinforced its commitment to scientific outreach, inspiring curiosity about chemistry, molecular science and materials research while bringing the work of its researchers closer to society.
