Jesús Cerdá (MolMatTC - ICMol) selected for CDEIGENT 2026...

Jesús Cerdá, researcher at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) of the Universitat de València and member of the Theoretical Chemistry Group (MolMatTC), has been selected in the provisional resolution of the CDEIGENT 2026 programme for the recruitment of researchers with international experience.

This recognition, within the framework of the GenT2 Plan, highlights the scientific excellence and international projection of his work in the field of theoretical chemistry. According to the official resolution, Jesús Cerdá Calatayud has been selected in the area of Chemical Sciences and Technologies.

Jesús Cerdá obtained his PhD in 2022 from the Universitat de València, under the supervision of Enrique Ortí and Juan Aragó. His doctoral research focused on the theoretical and computational study of non-covalent interactions and charge-transfer processes in supramolecular and organic materials.

He subsequently joined the Université de Mons as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral researcher, where he worked on optical properties and charge transport in the condensed phase, including exciton transport in molecular systems.

His current research focuses on energy transport and the optical properties of organic materials, with particular emphasis on the modelling of excitonic processes and the development of computational tools for optoelectronic and photovoltaic applications.

This recognition represents an important step forward in his research career and reinforces the activity of the theoretical chemistry area at ICMol.
