Carla Boix receives the RSEF-EPJ+ award in Quantum Physics and Matter...

Researcher Carla Boix Constant, a former member of the RTMM group at the Institute of Molecular Science of the University of Valencia (currently performing her postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge as a Royal Society Newton International Fellow), has received the RSEF-EPJ+ award in the area of Quantum Physics and Matter for her thesis, titled Tuning the Properties of Two-Dimensional Magnetic Heterostructures via Interface Engineering with Molecular and Inorganic van der Waals Crystals.

The award was granted at the 2nd Call for the RSEF-EPJ+ Award for the best doctoral theses of the specialised divisions and groups of the Spanish Royal Physics Society (RSEF). These awards recognise doctoral research of relevance that had previously been honoured by the different specialised divisions and groups of the RSEF. In this edition, three awards and three runner-up distinctions were granted in the areas of Atomic, Particle and Nuclear Physics, Quantum Physics and Matter, and Applied Physics, being Carla one of the awardees thanks to the candidacy presented by the Nanoscience and Molecular Materials Group of the Spanish Chemical and Physical Royal Societies (GENAM RSEQ-RSEF).

The award ceremony will take place on 24 July in Seville, within the framework of the 40th Biennial Meeting of the Spanish Royal Physics Society.

This recognition is further evidence of the international impact of the research carried out at the Institute of Molecular Science and of the work of the RTMM group in the field of advanced materials and two-dimensional magnetic heterostructures.
