The Institute of Molecular Science of the Universitat de València has held a session of ICMol On Tour, an initiative designed to bring the centre’s scientific and technological capabilities closer to the business sector, with a practical approach focused on addressing real technical challenges.

The opening of the session was led by Antonio Alberola and Carmen Martínez López,, members of the ICMol Knowledge Transfer team, who welcomed the participating companies and organisations to the Institute.

The event was organised in collaboration with the business associations ASECAM, VALMETAL/FEMEVAL and QUIMACOVA, with the aim of connecting the needs of industrial companies with ICMol’s scientific knowledge and technical capabilities in areas such as materials, processes, product validation and performance improvement.

During the session, participating companies had the opportunity to learn first-hand how ICMol can help them better understand challenges related to their materials, products or processes, reducing technical uncertainty and supporting more informed decision-making.

The activity combined the presentation of the Institute’s scientific and technological capabilities, an initial analysis of business needs, technical guidance meetings and the identification of possible avenues for collaboration.

As a result, five participating companies made progress in defining their technical challenges and identified concrete opportunities to collaborate with ICMol, whether through specialised analyses, technological diagnosis, material validation, solution development or future joint projects.

This action reinforces ICMol’s role as a scientific partner for companies and consolidates the ICMol On Tour model as an effective tool for generating new university–business collaborations based on the real needs of the industrial sector.
