Professor Miguel Julve Olcina from the Department of Inorganic Chemistry/Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) at the University of Valencia has been elected a member of the Academia Europaea during the annual meeting held at Paris in September 2011. Membership of Academia Europaea is obtained by invitation and follows a peer review selection process by an advisory commision. This Academia, founded in Cambridge in 1988, aims at promoting education and research from all disciplines in Europe and has over 2300 academic members, among them 38 Nobel laureates.

Profesor Julve is the sixth Spanish chemist elected in the Section of Chemical Sciences. His election has been based on his research activity which is reflected by the publication as coautor of more than 380 articles in peer review scientific journals and also by his high value in the Hirsch index (h = 63), features that place him among the elite of the Spanish chemists.
