Alejandro Gaita, researcher of the Molecular Science Institute (ICMol), together with Guillem Aromí (Inorganic Chemistry Department, from the University of Barcelona) and Fernando Luis (Materials Science Institute from Aragón, CSIC-University of Zaragoza) won the RSEF award for the Best Dissemination Paper with their article: “Computación Cuántica con moléculas magnéticas”.

The Jury highlighted the effort of the authors who approach, with clear language from a realistic experimental point of view, quantum computation, an area in which high hopes (encryption, secure transmission, calculation, simulation scientific ...) but still presents important scientific and technological challenges.

The Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF), with the intention of distinguishing and rewarding those who have excelled in any professional activity related to physics, created in 1958, the RSEF Physics Awards. These awards, given by the Royal Spanish Society of Physics (RSEF) and the BBVA Foundation (since 2008), annually select the most important achievements in Physics from the Spanish community, recognizing the creativity, effort and achievement in the field. The aim is to encourage professionals who carry out their work both in research (with special attention to young people) and in the fields of middle and university education, innovation, technology and dissemination.
