On 19 May, the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) decided to honour our colleague Enrique Ortí, Full Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Valencia and researcher at the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol), with the ‘Award to the Research Excellence’ for his research activity and trajectory during the last five years.

The research of Prof. Ortí mainly focuses on the application of quantum chemistry methods to the study of molecular materials used as electroactive/photoactive components in molecular electronics. His main contributions in the last few years concern the theoretical study of non-covalent interactions in electroactive supramolecular aggregates and the calculation of ionic transition-metal complexes as electroluminescent systems for light-emitting devices. The Award will be presented on November 7th in Madrid.
